Films
Solar Films reduce energy costs, protect furnishings, create privacy
and improve the look and feel of your home. A Lifetime Manufacturer-Backed
Residential Warranty is also available on most of the films when fitted
by a Qualified Installer.
Films now come in a range of Architecturally Designed Colours so unless
you particularly want a shiny mirror finish you can achieve sensational
Heat, Glare and UV Reduction by fitting a Neutral style film which
has low reflectivity both internally and externally. These ranges
of films are our biggest sellers.
It is important to match the film to your
needs and the colour scheme and style of your home. Some people are
interested in removing the harmful effect of UV Rays but really do
not want the film to be seen at all thereby retaining vision into
their homes so that lace curtains etc can still be seen. Other people
want to remove all view into their homes, and achieve more privacy,
or provide uniformity when looking at their property. Whatever your
problem there will be a film to solve it and we’re happy to
guide and advise you on an appropriate choice.
Correctly matching film to glass and satisfying the client’s
needs requires a high level of skill. We use sensitive state of the
art equipment to analyse the glass construction to determine the appropriate
film. If we require further analysis to ensure suitable films, we
utilise the film manufacturer’s expertise to seek approval on
application options as part of the quotation phase.
Window film has now been officially recognised for its energy-saving
properties. Window film is a cost-effective
way of achieving or increasing your Star Rating. MEP Film’s
“Energy Rated Window Films” brochure states a home taken
from a 1.5 star rating to 3.5 stars has, as tested by the NSW Government’s
Sustainable Energy Development Authority, saved 50% on heating and
cooling costs. At 5 stars a saving of up to 80% is possible. Using
4 or 5 stars rated films can reduce Air Conditioning usage by up to
75%.
